You know for certain that men and women are different. Both the sexes are not built in the similar way. Something is different between the bodies of men and women and this can be attributed to facts like hormonal change altering the balance between fat and muscle.
The shape, the size of the bones influences the responses to different needs at a later stage. In men, the size of the bone is determined by the testosterone hormones. It is again the testosterone hormones that are responsible for deepening of voice and hair growth in men. It further regulates the size of their muscle mass and this in turn influences the regulation of the rate of metabolism. Increase in muscle mass means calories will be burned up faster. This is a very important and significant difference between male and female sex and more importantly a difference between the fit and fat people.
You must have noticed when men and women train together and follow similar training programs the results differ. Several studies and researches were undertaken and results show women gain weight more easily than men and they find it more difficult to lose weight. Thus women are the unfortunate ones who are stuck with the worst part of any weight loss regime and they have to toil twice as hard as men to lose the extra pounds.
